Choose the Seoul base around what your parents want to do and whether they will return to the hotel during the day. Age alone does not determine walking pace, preferred neighbourhood or bedtime.
Keep central sightseeing and rest on the same route
City Hall and Euljiro can work when the itinerary combines palaces, central shopping, Namdaemun and a likely afternoon break. Jongno or Insadong suits a trip built around traditional streets, tea houses and palace mornings. City Hall and Namdaemun can help when Seoul Station or shopping logistics recur. Hongdae remains a sensible base if cafés, dinners and late evenings there are the family’s real priority.
ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun’s official page lists City Hall Station at about 110 m, Namdaemun at 350 m, Deoksugung at 400 m and Seoul Station at 950 m. Those are the hotel’s published distances; check the route you will actually walk, including station exits and luggage. See ENA’s location details.

Use hotel breaks only if the itinerary makes them possible
If someone is likely to rest at 15:00, decide whether the rest of the group will join or continue. A central address can make that split manageable; a schedule that runs across the city until dinner cannot use the room break you paid for. Keep late dinners and the next morning’s first stop on the same map before selecting the district.

Pay for the room features the group will use
Confirm who shares each bed, whether anyone sleeps earlier, and how many people need the bathroom at once. Hotel breakfast helps when it gives the group a predictable start; it adds little if the plan is to eat at markets or cafés. Likewise, a pool or larger suite should have a place in the actual itinerary before it influences the price.

Where to stay in Seoul narrows the districts. For a family sharing one apartment, compare three-generation room layouts; for midday returns, see the family rest-base guide. Use the hotel shortlist only after the route and room requirements are clear.

Best use of this page: Where to stay in Seoul with parents? Choose the base they would happily return to twice in one day
Core judgement: Do not assume parents automatically need Myeongdong or the least walking. Match their actual. Choose by location, room needs and transport trade-offs.
