Start with the mornings that have fixed arrival times. One afternoon meeting rarely needs to dictate every hotel night; repeated early meetings in one part of Seoul may. Gongdeok/Mapo can combine west-central work with airport rail, City Hall/Myeongdong suits some downtown schedules, and Seoul Station helps when rail and luggage matter.

Put fixed work appointments on the map before choosing a base

Record each meeting, registration, exhibition opening or company shuttle with its start time and exact address. Mark dinner, shopping and sightseeing separately so movable plans do not decide the hotel location.

Check the hotel-to-door route for every early arrival. A one-off appointment can fit around a base chosen for the rest of the stay; several morning starts in the same area may justify comparing nearby hotels.

If work takes only a small part of the trip, a leisure area may still be the better base. Compare its commute with your evening plans and the number of hotel moves. Related: Where to Stay in Seoul decision

Compare the commute with the cost of moving hotels

For one afternoon meeting in Yeouido and evenings elsewhere, keep the base that serves most nights and plan a generous commute buffer. If three consecutive mornings begin across Seoul, check whether staying closer saves enough travel to justify packing, moving bags and checking in again.

When only one person has early work, include the companion’s daytime plans. A central base may let the worker leave early while the other starts sightseeing; a hotel beside one office can add longer trips on the remaining days.

Yeouido and west-side work: Gongdeok is useful when you want a buffer, not a corporate campus outside the door

For meetings around Yeouido, Mapo or west-central Seoul, Gongdeok can be a transfer point when airport rail also matters. GLAD Mapo is at 92 Mapo-daero; its official access information lists Exit 8 for Lines 5 and 6 and Exit 9 for the Gyeongui–Jungang Line and Airport Railroad. Related: GLAD Mapo

Those connections do not make GLAD Mapo the closest option for every Yeouido address. Its role is a useful west-central base when both the meeting side and airport trip match; compare the actual door-to-door commute.

If the meetings are mostly south or east of the centre, start with those addresses. Several subway lines at Gongdeok do not guarantee a shorter trip from another district. Related: Seoul area decision

City Hall and Myeongdong work when downtown business and after-work Seoul can share the same return direction

For meetings around Jung-gu, Gwanghwamun or City Hall, a central hotel can keep the office and evening plans in one area. Marriott lists The Westin Josun Seoul at 106 Sogong-ro and describes nearby offices, landmarks and shopping. Related: The Westin Josun Seoul

The central location matters if meetings, dinner and hotel return share the same area. Pay for meeting rooms or hotel downtime only when you will use them; a business trip by itself is not a reason to choose a higher room category.

Nine Tree Premier Hotel Myeongdong 2 is another downtown option. Its official access page lists 28 Mareunnae-ro and about 254 metres or four minutes from Euljiro 3-ga Exit 11. This suits a different need from a full-service hotel: keeping several central directions in reach. Related: Nine Tree Premier Hotel Myeongdong 2

Seoul Station suits trips built around rail connections and luggage

If the itinerary includes bulky samples, a KTX trip out of Seoul and an AREX departure, compare the station-area hotel against the work locations before choosing. Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Station is one option to check against those legs.

Marriott describes an underground connection toward Seoul Station Exit 12 and access to AREX, KTX, GTX-A and Subway Lines 1 and 4. It also gives an 8–15-minute walk estimate and lists room desks and free Wi-Fi. Treat the connection and walking estimate as separate parts of the route.

If AREX serves only the first and last day, compare the base by the repeated office journeys. The Seoul Station, Gongdeok and Hongdae comparison tests those locations against that pattern.

A desk, Wi-Fi, breakfast and a business center only count when they remove a real work problem

List the facility you would actually use: a late video call, printing, breakfast before an early start or a place to finish work. A business-centre label or large desk has little value without a matching task.

The Marriott pages list facilities at The Westin and Four Points. Check the current property information, then decide whether those features solve a need in your schedule rather than treating them as an automatic upgrade.

Breakfast can simplify a group departure when the service hours match the first meeting. Compare the opening time with your commute and use the linked breakfast guide if that is the deciding factor. Related: Seoul hotel breakfast decision

A poor night has a direct cost before a presentation. If noise or sleep is more important than a lounge or meeting room, use the linked sleep guide to compare those constraints. Related: Seoul hotel sleep-quality test

Late arrival plus an early meeting can justify treating the first night as a separate product

A late arrival followed by an early meeting makes the first night a logistics problem: reach the room, sleep and leave on time. Consider a separate first-night base only if the morning venue is far from the rest of the stay.

A hotel move consumes checkout, bag handling, travel and another check-in. Split the stay only when the first property protects a difficult morning and the rest of the trip genuinely shifts to another area. Related: late-arrival first-night decision · one Seoul hotel or two bases

For a sample-heavy arrival or departure, check where the cases can stay before reserving another night. See the luggage storage guide for check-in and checkout days.

If you add two leisure nights after work, move hotels only when the work node has disappeared from the map

For a work segment followed by leisure days, a hotel change is optional. Keep the original base if it still serves AREX, Hongdae or central Seoul; move only if the remaining itinerary shifts to another side of the city.

A northbound move may pay off when work was south and the leisure days are now in Hongdae, Jongno or Myeongdong. Include the moving day and bag transfer in the comparison before switching hotels.

Name the journeys a second hotel removes: an early commute, a late return, a luggage backtrack or the final airport transfer. If none repeat, staying put is usually easier to manage.

When work should not dictate every hotel night

If work is one appointment and leisure fills most of the stay, do not let the office control every night. If meetings move daily, a central or transfer-friendly base may be more reliable than following one address.

Room layout, sleep needs, family travel and luggage can outweigh commute time. Confirm those requirements before narrowing by office location. Related: Seoul hotel decider

Some travellers will accept a longer commute for a particular hotel or more time in the property. That can be a deliberate choice; compare the extra journey with the benefit you expect from staying there.

Compare hotel locations against your work route

Match the next property page to the pattern: GLAD Mapo for west-central work with airport rail, The Westin or Nine Tree for downtown, and Four Points for station and luggage logistics. Best use of this page: Place the hotel around fixed work mornings, then fit Seoul evenings around that route.

Core judgement: Choose the base from the meeting address and number of fixed commutes. Add airport or rail convenience only when the trip will use it.
