BIFF uses several cinemas across Busan. For a future edition, map the screenings you plan to attend first; how often you change theatres will determine whether a Centum City base or a more central district fits better.

Choose lodging after the programme appears

Centum City is practical when several screenings are at Busan Cinema Center and the nearby cinemas, especially if you want to return between sessions. It is less useful when most films are elsewhere. The 2026 edition used multiple venues, so a hotel close to one theatre did not put every screening on the same block.

Count screening blocks and transfer gaps

Before choosing a base, map the actual venues and the gap between films. Add a transfer buffer, a meal and time to reach the correct screen. The festival’s 2026 notice said late entry was not allowed after the 15-minute mark, children under four could not enter, and film age ratings applied. Check the next edition’s rules and guest-visit schedule, which can change.

When a citywide base works better

If BIFF is one part of a wider Busan trip, compare the screening timetable with the old centre and coast days. Seomyeon can suit mixed-district travel; Centum City reduces returns to the main festival area. Keep the same room through the trip unless the venue schedule creates enough repeated cross-city travel to justify moving.

Busan Cinema Center is at 120 Suyeonggangbyeon-daero, Haeundae-gu, about five minutes on foot from Centum City Station, Line 2. During the 2026 opening and closing events, the festival announced nearby road closures; check the next event notice for any restrictions before driving.
