KRINAVI TRIP FIT
Trip-fit scores
75/100After Seoul, a six-day trip can add Busan by rail or Jeju by air. Busan requires the journey to Seoul Station, the KTX, a second hotel and the last leg from Busan Station. Jeju requires airport time, baggage collection and onward island transport. Choose based on how much useful time remains after those moves, not just the headline journey.

With Seoul already fixed, compare Busan’s rail transfer with Jeju’s flight and island transport. The second destination works only if useful time remains after getting to the hotel and settling in.
Choose the kind of second stop you want
Busan suits a second-city stay built around markets, port districts or a coastal evening. The KTX uses part of a day; see five-day Seoul-and-Busan decision to test whether the remaining two-night visit includes more than a late arrival and rushed departure.
Jeju is a better fit when the island is the focus: choose a coastline, direction or resort base and leave time beyond the airport transfer. Several distinct island areas do not fit into a short stay without spending much of it on the road.
Compare the whole transfer, not the ride
For Busan, check your dated KTX departure, the route from your Seoul hotel to the station, the Busan Station-to-hotel leg and what remains of the first evening. A published rail duration is not a door-to-door itinerary.
After Jeju earns its place, use Should you rent a car in Jeju? to decide whether a car suits your island route.
When Busan fits better
Choose Busan when you want a city base, an evening by the coast or markets, and prefer not to add another airport or car-rental handoff. Keep two usable periods after the rail transfer rather than counting the arrival and departure edges as full days.
Set the Busan district after you decide which nights are available. Where to stay in Busan compares Seomyeon, Haeundae, Gwangalli and Nampo by the kind of route and evening each supports.

When Jeju fits better
Choose Jeju when the island is the reason for the second leg and the flight day can remain for travel. Keep at least a full day plus another usable morning or evening and follow one direction instead of trying to cover three coasts.
Plan Jeju’s first and last nights around your flights. For a late landing, read Late arrival in Jeju: where should you stay the first night?; before an early departure, use Early flight from Jeju: where should you stay the last night? to choose a base that fits those times.
Put fixed events and the return airport on the calendar
Place concerts, exhibitions, reservations and family appointments on the calendar before adding a destination. A late Seoul event followed by an early flight can erase the evening you meant to protect; the same applies to a Busan night before an early KTX.
Your departure airport changes the final transfer. Ending in Busan before a Gimhae flight differs from returning north for Incheon. A Jeju departure may also involve car return, a shuttle and baggage time. Confirm the actual outbound airport before comparing stays.
Account for luggage and group size
Luggage and group size affect the handoff. More bags mean more loading, waiting and route coordination. Choose the transfer and second-night plan that works for everyone travelling, rather than assuming one destination automatically suits a particular group.

Staying in Seoul is also a route choice
Keep Seoul as the only base when the flight windows already use both ends of the trip, a fixed event needs the time, or the second destination cannot survive the transfer and luggage check. An added stop is of little use if it leaves neither a full day nor a slower evening.
Test the second night before booking
Check both nights separately. The first may serve arrival and dinner; the second should let the base and transport plan support another useful period. If it is already consumed by returning to an airport, crossing the island or changing hotels again, the stop needs more time.
- Choose Busan when the city and coast fit around the KTX transfer and leave two useful periods.
- Choose Jeju when you can protect the flight day and keep the island plan to one direction.
- Keep Seoul as the base when the second leg fails the transfer, luggage or final-airport check.
Choose the city before opening hotel booking pages. Once the route is settled, compare areas and stays against arrival time, the evenings you want and the outbound airport.

Use this page to decide, then compare stays
Use this guide to compare the transfer burden and time available after Seoul; it does not select a hotel or promise current room availability.
Busan suits a rail-connected city-and-coast segment; Jeju suits a directional island stay with enough time. Stay in Seoul if the second leg would be dominated by transfers.
