Jangsan Mountain: Choose a Viewpoint Walk or the Summit Route

Visit Busan describes a three-hour outing to the peak from the Daecheon Park side. A shorter forest walk is possible; choose the turnaround before taking the upper ridge.

Jangsan has forest paths, a summit route and ridge sections with rocky ground. Most first-time visitors start at Daecheon Park, where the lower valley approach is gentler than the climb that follows.

Entrance 3 of Haeundae Station on Busan Metro Line 2.

Start from Daecheon Park

The official address is 1390 Jwa-dong, Haeundae-gu. From Jangsan Station on Line 2, Visit Busan lists a 26-minute walk from Exit 10. Bus 100-1, 115-1, 181, 40 or 63 to Daelim 3-cha Apartment, followed by about a 15-minute walk, is another listed approach. Parking at Daecheon Park is charged.

Set the length before you climb

A viewpoint visit can use the lower forest path and return the same way. The full summit outing is about three hours according to Visit Busan; allow additional time for transfers, breaks and descent. A longer ridge traverse needs a separate finish and confirmed transport from that side.

Choose conditions that suit the route

Spring and summer bring humid conditions; rain can leave rocks and leaves slippery. In winter, shorter daylight and wind matter more on exposed sections. Check the forecast and trail conditions, carry water and keep enough daylight for the descent.

Pair it with Haeundae

Daecheon Park is in Jwa-dong, so the route fits best on a Haeundae-side day. After a full summit hike, keep the next stop nearby instead of adding a second cross-city trip. If the group has mixed pace, agree on a return route and meeting place before anyone takes a longer section.
