Huinnyeoul Coastal Walk: Choose the Village Lanes or the Longer Sea Path

The village lanes and Jeoryeong Coastal Trail are separate walks. Choose one as the main visit, then add the descent only if the group is comfortable with stairs and the uphill return.

Huinnyeoul’s village sits above the Jeoryeong Coastal Trail on Yeongdo. A short visit to the lanes and viewpoints can stay manageable; descending to the coast adds stairs and a longer return uphill.

Get there from Nampo

Visit Busan lists the route from Nampo Station Exit 6: transfer to Bus 7, 71 or 508 and get off at Baengnyeonsa Temple in Yeongseon-dong. The village is on a steep slope, so a short map distance can still involve a demanding walk. Check current bus service and stop names before travel.

Keep the visit on public paths

Huinnyeoul is a residential hillside neighbourhood. Use the public lane, keep doorways and narrow passages clear, and follow local signs and etiquette. The city lists daily access and free entry; cafés and small businesses have their own hours.

Decide before taking the stairs down

For a view-focused stop, stay in the village lanes and return by the bus stop you used. Add the coastal trail only if the group is ready for stairs, uneven sections and another climb back to transport. Set a turnaround point while everyone is comfortable rather than extending the route because the sea is visible below.

Check weather and daylight

Rain makes steep steps less comfortable, while heat and sunset change how much of the trail is sensible. Keep the coastal section optional, carry water and leave enough time to reach the return stop. If the path or weather feels wrong on arrival, the village viewpoints still make a complete short visit.
