Yanggu Route Decision: Punch Bowl Access, Park Soo Keun Art or Borderland Landscape?

Build a Yanggu day around either the reserved DMZ Punch Bowl trail or Park Soo Keun Art Museum. The trail needs advance booking and a guide; the museum has fixed hours and a last-entry time.

Reserve the Punch Bowl trail in advance

The DMZ Punch Bowl trail is not an open road walk. The Korea Tourism Organization’s updated guide says visitors must book at least three days ahead through the Forest Recreation portal and walk with a guide. Reservations are released six weeks ahead on Mondays at 09:00; departures are 09:30 and 13:30, with Monday and Tuesday closed. The four routes start at different points, so follow the meeting location for the course you book.

The same guide gives Park Soo Keun Art Museum’s hours as 10:00–18:00, last entry 17:00, closed Mondays, January 1, Lunar New Year and Chuseok. Admission is KRW 6,000 for adults and KRW 3,000 for ages 7–18. Check the museum’s current exhibition and calendar before setting out.

Choose one route for the day

For a booked trail day, follow the assigned course and meeting point; do not add a drive into restricted border areas. For a museum-led visit, use the museum as the fixed stop and add only a public viewpoint or outdoor walk with confirmed access and enough daylight. The museum and the guided DMZ trail are separate visits, so combining them depends on the reserved departure and transfer time.
