When Does Korea's Ski Season Start? Resort Dates and Snow Conditions

There is no single opening day for every Korean ski resort. MONA YongPyong says its slopes usually run from the end of November through the end of March, with the schedule changing according to weather; treat that as a resort-specific range, not a nationwide guarantee.

Use the season range as a planning window

Late November can fall within YongPyong’s usual season, but the resort may open slopes in stages. The first useful date for your trip is the one when the area, lift, rental desk and lesson you need are operating together. Check the current official opening updates before choosing a non-refundable stay.

The broad late-November-to-late-March range also leaves the exact end date uncertain. A March visit may have fewer usable slopes or services than a midwinter trip, so keep the ski session shorter and choose accommodation with a workable non-ski day nearby.

Choose a trip around the service you need

  • First lesson: MONA YongPyong offers lessons in English and Chinese, with advance reservation required. Confirm the lesson date and meeting point with the ski school.
  • Lift day: check the open-slope notice and the current lift-ticket information for the exact date; ticket types and prices can change.
  • Snow without skiing: plan around a local mountain or village visit instead of assuming a lift or snow activity is available.

Confirm the first and last transfer

Before paying, match resort operation, lessons, rental, transport and cancellation terms to the same dates. Leave enough time for the return journey if snow or road conditions change. The Pyeongchang two-day plan shows how to arrange instruction and recovery around one resort base.
