For two days on snow, keep the same base both nights. Use the first ski day to sort equipment and instruction; make day two longer only if the group and the live slope notice support it.
Choose one resort base
MONA YongPyong is the more direct fit when both days centre on skiing: its FAQ says the ski area sits outside its guest condominiums. Alpensia is a separate resort choice. Its Ski House equipment-rental counter is in building 203 and the official guide lists operating hours of 08:00–22:00. Do not plan a same-day switch between the two resorts as if they were one slope area.
Arrival evening: settle the details
After check-in, confirm where to collect equipment, where a reserved lesson meets and how the group will return to the room. For YongPyong, lessons in English and Chinese require advance reservation. Use the resort’s current slope notice to make sure the beginner area needed for the lesson is operating.
Day one: fit, learn and stop with energy left
- Start: collect rental gear and meet the instructor or choose an easy warm-up area.
- After instruction: repeat a manageable run before adding distance. Keep a shared meeting point and return time for different ability levels.
- Finish: stop early enough to dry clothing and prepare for day two; do not add a distant outing after a full session.
Day two: repeat the useful part
If the first day went well and the slopes are operating, repeat the run or lesson that helped most, then add one new area. If someone is tired or the weather closes the planned terrain, shorten the ski block and stay near the chosen base. A second full lift day is optional, not the measure of a successful trip.
Alpensia guests using KTX Jinbu
Alpensia lists two resort shuttles in each direction daily. Jinbu station departures are 11:00 and 14:10, arriving at Alpensia at 11:20 and 14:30. Resort departures are 10:30 and 13:40, arriving at Jinbu at 10:50 and 14:00. The shuttle is for Alpensia guests; the resort asks for a reservation voucher or facility ticket and confirmation letter.
