Jangseong Baekyangsa Route Decision: Temple Stillness, Forest Walk or Temple Stay?

Baekyangsa is a temple visit in Jangseong; a Baegamsan hike or Templestay adds a separate time commitment. Decide which one is the purpose of the day before linking them together.

Keep the temple visit self-contained

Baekyangsa was established in 632 and is known for its forest approach and the pavilion by the temple pond. The Templestay listing gives the address as 1239 Baekyang-ro, Bukha-myeon, Jangseong-gun. Stay within visitor areas, follow signs around worship spaces and leave the mountain circuit for another plan if the group needs a shorter visit.

Templestay follows a set program

The official Baekyangsa listing describes forest walking meditation and Seon practice; it also lists a temple-food experience. Program dates, participation and booking windows vary. The current listing says the food program runs once a month and opens reservations one month ahead, so check the date shown there instead of planning around an assumed weekly schedule.

Check the temple and program separately

Use Jangseong County’s visitor information for the temple and the national Templestay page for program content, address and reservations. If you intend to climb beyond the temple approach, see the separate Baegamsan route guide for route endpoints and estimated walking times.
