Jangheung Jeongnamjin Route Decision: Observatory Coast, Cypress Forest or Water Festival?

Make Jeongnamjin Observatory the day’s destination rather than treating Jeongnamjin as a compact walking district. The tower stands at 242-58 Jeongnamjinhaean-ro, Gwansan-eup, Jangheung-gun.

The 45.9-metre observatory has ten floors. From the upper observation area, the view takes in Deukryang Bay, Sorokdo and surrounding islands; lower floors include themed visitor spaces. That gives the stop an indoor component, but the sea view still depends on visibility and weather.

Seasonal schedule and ticket

The current tourism information lists 09:00–20:00 for March–October and 09:00–19:00 for November–February. The adult admission listed by VisitKorea is KRW 2,000. The county’s tourism information notes Monday closure and possible closure on the day after a public holiday. Check the county page before setting out, especially around holidays.

Transfers beyond the observatory

Jeongnamjin covers a wider coastal and rural area. If you add Cypress Forest Woodland or Jangheung town, check the transfer and return separately; a nearby county landmark is not necessarily a short walk from the observatory. With limited daylight, finish the tower visit first and make the second stop optional.
