Hanbat Arboretum: Choose East Garden, West Garden or Greenhouse

A useful visit can be one garden, not a forced circuit of every section. Choose East Garden, West Garden or the greenhouse according to the day’s weather and opening schedule.

Check which section is open

Daejeon’s current visitor page lists the outdoor gardens as 05:00–21:00 from April to October, with entry closing at 20:00; from November to March, hours are 07:00–19:00 with entry closing at 18:00. East Garden and the tropical greenhouse close Mondays; West Garden closes Tuesdays. If a closure day falls on a public holiday, the city lists the garden as open. Check the notice board before visiting. Hanbat Arboretum hours and notices.

The city’s current page gives seasonal hours and closure days. The arboretum covers 387,000 square metres and includes separate gardens and a tropical greenhouse; see VisitKorea’s guide to the sections.

Choose the section that fits your day

East Garden suits a defined themed-garden walk. West Garden gives you a separate open-air area. Use the tropical greenhouse when you want an indoor plant visit, but confirm its operation and access on the city page. The site covers 387,000 square metres, so crossing every section takes more time than a single garden stop.

On hot or wet days, shorten the outdoor route and leave time for the return. Pair the arboretum with one nearby venue only after checking the map and your group’s walking pace. For Expo-area facilities, use the separate Expo Science Park guide.
