Daegu Modern Alley: choose a short history stop or the full walk

The most reliable plan is not a map covered in pins. Give the morning one theme, the afternoon one nearby direction, and reserve enough room for dinner and the journey back.

Daegu's Modern Culture Alley is an urban history route, not a single ticketed attraction. Choose between a brief visit to one indoor interpretation space and the full Course 2 walk, which VisitKorea describes as about 1.64 kilometres and roughly two hours.

Take a short stop at Gyesanyega

Modern History Experience Hall Gyesanyega introduces the neighbourhood and the houses of Yi Sang-hwa and Seo Sang-don. It is at 6-1 Seoseong-ro, Jung-gu, and admission is free. VisitKorea lists hours of 09:00??8:00, shortened to 09:00??7:30 from November through February; it closes on Seollal and Chuseok. There is no on-site parking.

Choose the full route only if the group has two hours

Course 2 links Cheongna Hill and missionary houses, Independence Movement Road, Gyesan Cathedral, historic homes and the former medicine-market area. The number of stops can make the walk take longer than its distance suggests. Pick the indoor places that matter to you and check their schedules separately before starting.

Use the nearest open stop as the endpoint

Begin with Gyesanyega if its opening window fits; otherwise make the outdoor street your route and end near the meal or transit stop you already chose. This keeps the walk useful when one historic interior is closed.
