A car-free Daegu day works best when the stops share an area. Use rail or a bus for a longer move, walk between nearby places, and keep one simple route back to your hotel or station.

Start with the area, then choose the connection
Pick one neighbourhood or theme for the morning. Add a second area only when the transfer leaves enough time for a meal and the return. This keeps a delayed bus or a longer walk from knocking every later stop off schedule. See the Daegu one-day itinerary for a route built around a smaller set of stops.

Use each mode for the leg it handles well
Use rail when it removes a long cross-city journey. Check whether a bus takes you closer to the destination, including the walk from the stop. Walk when the next place is nearby; a short taxi can help with luggage, rain, heat or a late return. Before boarding, verify the direction and return service for that specific trip.
Make the first and last legs part of the plan
Save the hotel address, nearest useful stop and an alternate pickup point before leaving. If arriving by intercity train, include the station-to-hotel or luggage drop in the first leg. A late arrival is better suited to dinner nearby than a cross-city sightseeing loop.

Keep the plan adjustable
Heat, rain, queues and group pace all change walking time. Mark one essential stop and a latest comfortable return; remove the farthest optional stop if the day slips. For repeated bus and subway journeys, check the Korea transport card guide. For arrival and onward rail, see Seoul to Daegu transport.
