Chuncheon Route Decision: Soyanggang, Old Downtown, or a Shorter Lake Day?

Soyanggang’s riverfront and Chuncheon’s Myeongdong dining street are separate stops. Start with the skywalk if its glass section is the priority; use downtown for a meal and shorten the river visit if you have a fixed train or bus.

Start at the river only when it is open

The Soyanggang Skywalk is at 2663 Yeongseo-ro. Chuncheon lists hours of 10:00–20:30 from April through October and 10:00–17:30 from November through March. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing; Tuesday is the weekly closure. Admission is ₩2,000, returned as a Chuncheon Love gift certificate. Rain, snow or strong wind may interrupt operation, so check the city notice before travelling.

Use downtown for the meal stop

Chuncheon’s official tourism listing places Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley at 2 Myeongdong-gil. The street is open year-round, but each restaurant sets its own hours and menu. Check the restaurant you plan to visit rather than assuming the alley shares one schedule.

Allow for the transfer

Do not treat the skywalk and old downtown as one continuous walk. Check the current bus, taxi or driving time from your arrival point and leave a return buffer for the station. If the skywalk is closed or the connection is tight, keep the meal and downtown visit as the dependable part of the day.
