Chuncheon Soyanggang City Route: How to Pair the River, Skywalk and Downtown

Treat the Soyanggang waterfront and Chuncheon’s downtown as two stops connected by transport, not one continuous walk. The Skywalk can anchor a short river visit; downtown is the flexible place for a meal or a shorter finish.

Use the Skywalk as the waterfront anchor

Soyanggang Skywalk is at 2663 Yeongseo-ro. Chuncheon’s tourism office lists seasonal hours of 10:00–20:30 from April through October and 10:00–17:30 from November through March, with the last entry 30 minutes before closing. It is closed every Tuesday. The individual admission fee is ₩2,000, returned as a Chuncheon Love gift certificate.

The structure is 174 metres long, including 156 metres of transparent glass. The city says weather such as rain, snow or strong wind can interrupt operation. Check the notice before setting out, especially if the Skywalk is the main reason for the river transfer.

Choose a river-first or city-first day

For a clear-weather visit, go to the Skywalk first, then choose one nearby riverfront stop before returning toward central Chuncheon for food. On a late arrival, a rainy day or a day with a fixed train, stay in town and make the waterfront optional. Do not plan to walk from downtown to the river as if they were the same compact district; confirm the transfer from your arrival point and allow time for the return.

If driving, the city lists a public car park across the road from the Skywalk at Soyang-ro 1-ga 47-7, with a charge of ₩600 for the first 30 minutes and ₩300 for each additional 10 minutes. Use the underpass or crossing to reach the entrance.

Keep the day easy to shorten

Set a return time before extending the walk along the water. If weather, entry or transport takes longer than expected, shorten the river section before removing the meal or station buffer. For an overnight stay, choose a base according to the next day’s departure rather than trying to cover both districts on foot.
