Cheongyang’s main outdoor choice is a short lake visit at Cheonjangho or a longer walk on Chilgapsan. They sit in different parts of the day; do not try to turn both into a rushed checklist.
Choose the lake for a compact outing
Cheonjangho’s suspension bridge is 207 metres long and 1.5 metres wide, with a 16-metre chili-shaped tower at the entrance. The county currently lists night opening on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 21:00; confirm the notice before relying on an evening visit. The address is 24 Cheonjangho-gil, Jeongsan-myeon. See the county bridge page for access details.
Choose Chilgapsan for the walk
The county lists several Chilgapsan trail approaches, including routes associated with the Cheonjangho area. Check the official trail information for the route that matches your group, then check weather and trail notices before leaving. Keep the mountain route as the main activity if you plan to reach the summit.
Use the wood centre as an indoor alternative
The county Wood Culture Experience Center is at 668-103 Chilgapsan-ro, Daechi-myeon. It is listed as open 09:00–18:00 and closed Mondays (or the next day when Monday is a national holiday), January 1, Lunar New Year and Chuseok. The posted individual admission is ₩1,000 for children, ₩2,000 for youth and ₩3,000 for adults; group rates and exemptions differ. Check the venue page and county fee table before setting the stop.
Without a car, confirm the return bus before choosing between the lake, mountain and Daechi venue. Keep one anchor and drop the farthest stop if the transfers do not line up.
Choose one outdoor anchor and verify the trail, venue and return transport before setting the day.
