For an autumn visit, make the valley walk the plan and set a turnaround before the trail gets busy. The route catalog also lists longer mountain courses, which need a different time and fitness budget.
Use the valley as an out-and-back
Start from the Sangui entrance area and follow the valley past Daejeonsa toward Yongchu Falls. Stop there if the group wants a shorter walk; continue toward the other falls only when footing, crowding and daylight still leave a comfortable return. Autumn bottlenecks can make the outward pace misleading, so leave margin for the same path back.
Juwangsan National Park publishes separate course maps, access guidance and live trail-control notices. Check the official Juwangsan course and access page on the day. The seasonal Jeolgol–Gamebong reservation route is a separate, longer course; its entry rules do not apply to this valley walk.
Arrive early, then let the trail decide
Foliage weekends bring more traffic around the entrance and narrow valley sections. If the path is crowded, keep the falls as the endpoint and skip a summit extension. Wet stone, rain or a rising stream is a reason to turn back, not to wait for a photograph.
The park lists its office at 169-7 Gongwon-gil, Juwangsan-myeon, Cheongsong-gun and publishes current controls online. Bus times and parking arrangements can change; check the latest Cheongsong transport and park notices before fixing the return leg.
Make the return part of the route
Agree on a meeting point if walkers split up, and set a latest return time before entering the valley. After the walk, keep the next stop close to the transport you have confirmed rather than adding another trail because the morning felt easy.
Choose the turnaround before entering the crowded valley, and check KNPS trail controls again on the day.
