A hotel beside Busan Station removes the first transfer. For a multi-night stay, compare that one saved trip with every journey you will repeat afterward.
Pick the area your itinerary uses most
Busan Station suits a late arrival, an early onward train or a trip with several rail day trips. It is on Metro Line 1; check the hotel’s exact street route from the exit you will use.
Seomyeon works for a mixed itinerary. Lines 1 and 2 meet there, so it can balance the western and eastern sides of the city. Nampo is also on Line 1 and fits Jagalchi, Yeongdo and the old harbour area. Haeundae is a better base when the coast, Centum City or BEXCO anchor most days; the metro journey from Busan Station usually changes at Seomyeon.
Count station journeys, not just arrival and departure
If you use Busan Station only twice, a central base may make more sense across the rest of a four-night stay. Frequent train trips can reverse that calculation. A hotel move before an early KTX also means packing, check-out and a second check-in; compare the saved morning ride with those hours.
With a large case, include the platform-to-metro transfer, elevator, street crossing and hotel entrance. The station has elevators, but the useful one depends on your hotel’s side of the road.
