KTX Arrival × Big Luggage · Last-500-Metre Decision

Arriving in Busan by KTX with Large Luggage? Plan the Station-to-Hotel Route

With a large suitcase, the last transfer and the hotel entrance can matter more than the number of subway stops. Choose a base that works after arrival and for the rest of the trip.

Busan Station is at 206 Jungang-daero, Dong-gu. If you are carrying a large case, compare the full route from train platform to hotel entrance, including the transfer, station exit and final walk.

Remove the hardest luggage move first

Staying near Busan Station works for a late arrival, one night or an early onward train. Seomyeon can be a better base for a mixed itinerary; Line 1 connects it without a line change from Busan Station. Nampo also sits on Line 1 and suits the western old centre. Haeundae is further east, so check the transfer and final walk against the hotel address before choosing it.

Use elevators and storage deliberately

Busan Transportation Corporation lists two inside and two outside elevators at Busan Station on Line 1. Check the station map for the nearest elevator to your intended exit. Busan City lists a luggage service inside KTX Busan Station, near Exit 5 on the first floor; confirm current opening hours, size limits and availability before relying on it. Lockers can be full when trains arrive together.

Compare a taxi with the metro

A taxi can simplify the trip for several people with cases or a hotel far from a station, but traffic and vehicle capacity matter. For the metro, count the walk from the KTX concourse to Line 1, the exit stairs or elevator, and the hotel’s entrance path. Do not compare only the number of stops.

Let the next days decide the base

For one night before another KTX, Busan Station minimizes repeated handling. For several days split between west and east Busan, compare Seomyeon with the actual daily route. If you stay in Haeundae for the beach, accept the longer arrival leg only when the repeated coast journeys repay it.
