Jungang-dong links the Forty Stairs and its Korean War-era refugee history with the old port district. The street is a compact walk; the culture centre and Busan Modern History Museum are separate indoor stops.

Reach the street from Jungang Station
The Korea Tourism Organization describes a 450-metre themed street leading to the Forty Stairs and Palseong Tour. From Jungang Station on Line 1, the Jung-gu office lists Exit 13 or 15 and about five minutes on foot to the Forty Stairs Culture Center. Buses also stop in Jungang-dong.
Choose what to add
The Forty Stairs are an outdoor memorial route. The culture centre at 49 Donggwang-gil adds exhibits on the 1950s and wartime displacement. The Busan Modern History Museum gives a broader account of the port city and its changing periods. Select one indoor stop if time is short rather than trying to fit both museums into the same walk.

Check stairs and opening hours
The stairway is not a level route. If stairs are unsuitable, keep to the accessible street section or visit an indoor museum after checking its entrance. Jung-gu currently lists the Forty Stairs Culture Center as open Tuesday–Friday 10:00–18:00 and Saturday–Sunday 10:00–17:00, closed Monday and public holidays; confirm before visiting.
Finish in the old centre
From the street, continue toward the port or return to Jungang Station. Nampo, BIFF Square and Jagalchi can form a separate nearby route. Keep the history stops to daylight if you want to read outdoor plaques and make time for the return to the metro.
