Choose the ride by its route and constraints. The Sky Capsule covers the one-way Mipo–Cheongsapo section; the Beach Train continues along the coast to Songjeong. A public coastal walk lets you set your own pace, but it does not replace either ticketed ride.
What each option gives you
The Sky Capsule is a private cabin for two to four people on the shorter section, with a roughly 30-minute one-way ride. The Beach Train serves the longer line, with stops at Mipo, Dalmaji Tunnel, Cheongsapo, Daritdol Skywalk, Gudeokpo and Songjeong. Walking is the flexible choice if your group wants to stop often or avoid a fixed boarding slot.
Current fares and pass rules
The operator currently lists Beach Train one-way fares at ₩10,000 from Mipo or Songjeong and ₩8,000 from Cheongsapo or a simple station. A two-ride pass is ₩14,000 and the one-day all-station pass is ₩16,000; the all-station pass cannot be used twice at the same station. A one-way pass does not allow reboarding after you get off. For Sky Capsule, the cabin fare is ₩50,000 for two, ₩55,000 for three and ₩60,000 for four. The operator lists a combined one-way capsule and free Beach Train package at ₩73,000, ₩92,000 and ₩111,000 for two, three and four passengers. Check the live fare page before purchase.
Choose the direction before the time slot
Pick Mipo or Songjeong as your start based on the rest of the day. The Sky Capsule only runs between Mipo and Cheongsapo, while the Beach Train links the full coast section. The reservation time is tied to the first boarding or capsule entry window; arrive early because the boarding gate closes 10 minutes before departure. Late arrival can mean denied boarding and no refund. Build the final transfer into the plan before choosing a slot.
Seasonal closing times
The Beach Train starts at 09:00. Its listed closing time is 19:00 from November to February, 19:30 in March, April and October, 20:30 in May, June and September, and 21:30 in July and August. The Sky Capsule starts at 08:30 and closes at 18:00, 18:30, 19:30 or 20:30 across those same seasonal groups. Crowds and safety operations can change boarding times; heavy rain or a typhoon may stop service. Confirm the date-specific timetable and notice before leaving.
When a walk is the better plan
Use the coast walk as the main outing if ticket availability, weather or stairs make the rides a poor fit. You can keep one booked ride and leave the walk optional. For wheelchair users, the operator permits manual wheelchairs on the Beach Train, but they must be folded in the Sky Capsule; powered wheelchairs are not permitted on either service. Check the operator’s current access guidance for the exact setup.
