Dongbaekseom Island: Coastal Walk and Nurimaru

Walk the 950-metre coastal path first, then decide whether the Nurimaru interior fits its admission hours.

Dongbaekseom’s 950-metre coastal trail is a short Haeundae walk with the lighthouse, mermaid statue and Nurimaru APEC House along the route. The outdoor trail and the indoor house have different visiting conditions.

Walk the coastline before entering Nurimaru

The Busan Galmaetgil route page describes the Dongbaekseom coastal path as about 950 metres. It passes the Dongbaek Lighthouse, Princess Hwangok Mermaid Statue and Haeundae carved stone. Use the official route entry to identify the path, then continue only as far as the group wants before doubling back or moving toward the Haeundae beach side.

Nurimaru APEC House is the indoor visit on the island. The city lists it at 116 Dongbaek-ro, free admission, 09:00–18:00 with last admission at 17:00, and closed on the first Monday of each month. Its visitor page carries the current hours and contact number.

Reach the island and protect the return

Busan City lists Dongbaek Station on Metro Line 2, Exit 1, about a 14-minute walk to Nurimaru. Bus 1003 serves the Dongbaek-seom stop. Paid parking is available, but the city warns that spaces around the island are limited and fill quickly on weekends and holidays.

If arriving after 17:00, the coastal walk may still be the useful part of the visit, but Nurimaru admission has closed. For an evening view, keep to the outdoor route and check the exact return point before choosing a late Haeundae meal or another stop.

Pair it with one nearby stop

APEC Naru Park is about a ten-minute walk from Nurimaru, according to Visit Busan. Add it if you want another open-air path; otherwise, the island loop and beach-side exit already make a complete short outing. The house’s museum hours do not determine the coastal path schedule.

See Visit Busan’s island and APEC House profile for the location and nearby park connection.
