Bokcheon Museum and Ancient Tombs: Route and Visit Plan

The galleries and outdoor tomb park form one Gaya-history stop in Dongnae.

Bokcheon Museum displays finds from the nearby Bokcheon-dong tomb complex, including material from the Gaya period. The museum is free, and the tomb park outside gives the visit a second part without adding another destination across town.

Museum hours and what fits inside

The city museum lists Tuesday–Sunday opening from 09:00 to 18:00, with last admission at 17:00; it closes on Mondays and January 1. The outdoor tomb park is listed separately as open until 20:00. Admission is free. Check the Busan Museum visitor notice for holiday changes before setting out.

Inside, the displays focus on objects excavated from the Bokcheon-dong tombs and help place the burial ground in Busan’s Gaya-era history. Start indoors if you want the artifact context first, then use the park paths to see the tomb landscape; in hot or wet weather, reverse the order and keep the outdoor portion shorter.

Getting there from Dongnae Station

Busan City’s English directions start at Dongnae Station on Metro Line 1, Exit 4: transfer to neighborhood bus 6, get off at Bokcheon Museum, then walk about 50 metres. Parking is also listed. Check the city’s route and museum page for the current bus stop and service.

The English visitor listing gives the address as 63 Bokcheon-ro, Dongnae-gu. If your map search shows a nearby number, use the museum pin rather than navigating to the street number alone.

Set the visit length by the collection

Allow the museum’s open hours to determine the indoor visit first; a late arrival after 17:00 will miss admission even though the building remains open until 18:00. Add the tomb park only if daylight and weather leave time. The two parts are adjacent, so there is no need to build in a second cross-city transfer.
