Beomeosa works as a temple visit on its own. The Geumjeongsan trail adds an uphill walk, daylight and weather exposure; decide on that extension before leaving the city.
The temple visit and mountain walk are separate plans
Beomeosa is a historic temple at the foot of Geumjeongsan. Visit the grounds first; extend to a trail only if the group has enough daylight and energy for the return. Check the current Korea Tourism Organization visitor listing and Geumjeong-gu transport guidance before setting the day.
Metro Line 1 connects to Bus 90
Geumjeong-gu says to leave Beomeosa Station at Exit 5 or 7, walk about five minutes to the bus stop and take Bus 90 toward the temple. The city guide lists other routes and a final five-minute walk from the temple bus stop. Check the current local directions for the return as well as the outbound trip.
Official pages currently show different visitor hours
KTO’s basic listing shows 08:00–17:00, while its newer temple feature page shows 09:00–18:00. Both identify the temple as open year-round and free. Confirm hours and any ceremony or restricted area directly with the temple before travelling; do not plan around either time without that check. See the two official pages: basic visitor information and temple feature information.
Keep the grounds respectful and the route manageable
The grounds include gates, courtyards and steps. Follow current signs about ceremonies, photography and building entry; ask before photographing worshippers. If the approach or weather makes the walk difficult, skip the mountain extension and return by the same transport route.
A central Busan base suits a day that combines Beomeosa with other city plans. A northern base may reduce the morning transfer, but compare its food options and next-day route in the Busan accommodation guide before booking.
