Choose whether the visit is led by a scheduled performance, the traditional village or family rides. Those activities compete for the same hours; select the main one before arrival and fit the others around its timetable.
Choose the day’s anchor
- Culture first: choose a few village spaces, customs or craft displays and give them time.
- Performance first: check the current schedule, entry rules, seating and weather policy, then plan the village around that fixed time.
- Family activities: pair a manageable cultural visit with current attractions, food and rest points. Confirm age or height rules before promising a ride.
The village was assembled from about 270 real houses relocated and restored from different parts of Korea. Its Korean Folk Museum, World Folk Museum and other exhibition halls add context to the outdoor village and offer an indoor pause between walks. The village’s official overview (in Korean) describes the site and its collections.
Build the route around the programme
Build the walking route around one show rather than trying to catch every performance. The live programme currently lists “Our Traditional Music” at 11:30, 14:30 and 16:30 daily, and “Sori Hanmadang” at 13:00 and 15:00 daily; other acts use weekday or weekend slots. Check the official performance schedule for your date because times and locations can change.
Choose a brief performance, craft stop or village section that everyone can share, and fix the regrouping point before anyone branches off. Children may want a movement or meal break before a long history stop; adults can use optional time for buildings and context.
Admission and getting there
The official full-day ticket is ₩37,000 for adults and ₩30,000 for children on weekdays, rising to ₩39,000 and ₩32,000 on weekends. Adult means middle-school age and up; the child rate covers ages 36 months through elementary school, and younger children enter free with proof of age. Check current ticket terms and restrictions before setting a budget.
By public transport, Sanggal Station is the nearest subway stop, but you still transfer to a bus; routes 37 and 10-5 serve the village. Direct buses include 5001-1 from Sinnonhyeon, 1560 from Gangnam, 4101 from Seoul Station and airport bus A8877. Drivers can use the village’s parking lot (small car ₩2,000; large vehicle ₩3,000). Check the official route and parking page. Opening hours vary by season and weather, so confirm the current operation notice before travel.
