Yeosu’s old port and Dolsan coast suit different days. Yi Sun-sin Square is a free, year-round starting point by the former harbour, with views toward Dolsan Bridge. Dolsan gives a broader view across the bay and needs more attention to slopes, wind and the return. Choose one as the main area before adding a second crossing.
Keep the old-port route compact
From Yi Sun-sin Square, choose one history stop or waterfront stretch, then eat nearby. The square itself is open year-round and free; Yeosu City lists parking for 50 cars and five large vehicles, but parking is limited during busy periods. It is easier to shorten this route around meal times than an outlying coastal walk. See the city’s square information for the location and access notes.
Go to Dolsan for the wider view
Dolsan is more exposed and can involve uphill walking. Check visibility and wind before choosing a viewpoint; a grey sky may still suit a short coast stop, but it can make a sunset trip less rewarding. The cable car connects the Dolsan and Jasan sides when it is operating; check the day’s service and settle the return before setting out.
For the 2026 season through 7 November, Yeosu City lists its “Busker” night tour on Fridays and Saturdays from 19:30 to 21:30. It starts and ends at Yi Sun-sin Square, passes the waterfront and Dolsan Bridge, has a 40-seat limit, and costs ₩20,000 standard or ₩10,000 for listed discount groups; preschool children ride free. Traffic can change timing. Check the current route and booking information before choosing it.
On a car-free day, avoid trying to walk the old port and Dolsan in one continuous route. Use a confirmed city bus, cable car or booked tour for the transfer. If the service is full or delayed, finish in the district where you started rather than adding a late return across the bay.
