Yeongdeok Blue Road is a set of four long coastal routes, not a single day walk. Course B is the snow-crab coast: it runs 15.5 km from Haemaji Park past Daetan Port, Seok-ri, the original snow-crab village and Jukdosan to Chuksan Port and Namssi Balsangji. The official estimate is about five hours on foot, before meals or transfers.
Use Course B when the villages matter as much as the sea
The route’s sequence alternates exposed coast, settlements and port scenery. Gyeongjeong’s snow-crab identity gives the middle of the walk a food and fishing-village context, while Chuksan is a practical endpoint for arranging a meal or onward ride. Five hours is a full walking block; if the group wants time at the harbour, shorten the walk to one confirmed section rather than trying to cover the whole course.
Course B is one-way. Arrange the return from Chuksan or the chosen endpoint before leaving Haemaji Park. Yeongdeok’s official Blue Road page lists local bus-terminal and taxi contacts; confirm the service and last departure for your date, since the route page is not a live timetable. If return transport is uncertain, use a shorter out-and-back walk near one village.
Plan for an exposed coast
Wind, glare, heat, rain and spray can change the effort quickly. Carry water and sun or wind protection, follow marked paths, and set a turnaround point while daylight remains. In summer, start early and avoid the hottest hours; winter is better suited to a short port visit than a five-hour exposed walk. Check the forecast and local trail notices on the day.
For the full route and current contact details, see the official Course B map and Yeongdeok Blue Road route information. Restaurant stock, snow-crab prices and opening hours vary; confirm those separately before building the return around dinner.
With limited time or uncertain transport, choose a short village-to-port section and return by a confirmed ride. For a full-day walk, keep the official 15.5 km and five-hour estimate in the schedule, then add transfers and stops.
