Yeoju Yeongneung Route Decision: Royal Forest, Namhangang or Temple-and-River Day?

Yeongneung and Nyeongneung are the history-and-forest anchor; Silleuksa and the Namhangang make a separate river-side route. Choose between them by opening hours and transfer time, rather than trying to cover every site on foot.

Allow time for both royal tombs

Yeongneung is King Sejong and Queen Soheon’s tomb; Nyeongneung is King Hyojong and Queen Inseon’s. The grounds open 09:00–18:00 in February–May and September–October, 09:00–18:30 in June–August, and 09:00–17:30 in November–January. Last entry is one hour before closing; the site closes Mondays, moving to the next business day when Monday is a public holiday. Admission is KRW 500 and parking is free. Check the current visitor details before setting a return time.

Use the river for a different kind of day

Silleuksa sits beside the Namhangang and gives the route a temple and river focus. The Korea Tourism Organization’s Yeoju heritage itinerary places Yeongneung, Yeoju Museum, Silleuksa and Gangcheonseom on a route of about 17.69 km. Treat that as a multi-stop transfer, not a continuous riverside walk. For a shorter visit, choose Yeongneung with one nearby stop; for the river route, confirm the path and transport between Silleuksa and Gangcheonseom.
