Anmyeondo Coast Route: Forest, Beach or Low Tide?

Anmyeondo is easier to plan when one stop sets the clock. A low-tide activity has a narrow window; the recreation forest has posted seasonal hours; a beach visit is more flexible but depends on the road, wind and the facilities you need. Pick the fixed-time stop first and build the rest around it.

Use the tide page for your date

Taean County’s sunrise, sunset and tide page lets you select a travel date. The tide data is based on Anheung and supplied by the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency. The county notes that a mudflat outing is generally possible around two hours before and after low tide, but that timing does not replace local access rules or shore conditions. Check the exact beach or village notice before collecting shellfish or walking onto exposed flats.

For a low-tide day, arrive with time to park and reach the shore before the usable window. Set a return time before going out, and keep another stop nearby rather than driving to a second distant beach.

Use the forest as the fixed indoor-feeling block

Anmyeondo Recreation Forest lists visiting hours of 09:00–18:00 from March through October and 09:00–17:00 from November through February. It closes on the first Saturday of each month, moving the closure to the following day when that Saturday is a public holiday. Individual admission is ₩1,500 for adults, ₩1,300 for teenagers or military visitors, and ₩700 for children. Facility use has separate charges.

If forest shade and a slower walk are the priority, visit before the beach. If low tide fixes your arrival time, do the shore first and keep the forest for another date if its closing window no longer fits.

Choose one beach and leave the drive short

Taean County describes Anmyeon Beach as a broad sandy shore with offshore islands and lists its address as 554-4 Haean-gwangwang-ro, Anmyeon-eup. That is a specific beach stop; the county’s Anmyeondo area guide also lists other beaches and ports, but their locations are spread along the island. Pick one coastline section and avoid stacking far-apart stops around a short sunset window.

For a mixed group, check toilets, parking and the walk from the car before choosing a beach. For fishing, shellfish gathering or rentals, confirm the current local rules and operator information; do not assume an activity mentioned on a tourism page is available at every beach.
