Choose by location first. ARTE Museum is near Aewol in the west; Aqua Planet Jeju is near Seongsan in the east. The attraction that fits your current hotel and next stop is usually the better rainy-day choice.
Choose a venue that fits the route
Start with the route, then select a ticket. Rain does not shorten the cross-island drive, so an indoor venue can still consume much of the day if it is in the wrong direction.
If the hotel base is not settled, compare where you are staying before buying either ticket. A rain forecast alone is not a reason to cross Jeju.
ARTE Museum: later entry and a self-paced visit
The hours recorded for ARTE Museum are 10:00–20:00, with last entry at 19:00. This later window can work after a daytime route or before hotel check-in. Confirm the current schedule for your date.
ARTE Museum presents immersive media-art installations using light, sound and large projections. It suits a self-paced indoor visit when your group wants visual exhibits rather than marine displays or a timed performance.
Aqua Planet: plan around its hours and show schedule
The guide’s Aqua Planet schedule snapshot lists 09:30–18:00, ticketing through 17:00, about 60 minutes for the aquarium and 40 minutes for Ocean Arena. Check the live hours and performance schedule; the show adds a fixed time to the visit.
Aqua Planet fits best when the aquarium or Ocean Arena is itself part of the plan. Do not choose it solely because the weather is bad if the timetable or east-side route does not work.

Match the venue to your side of Jeju
If you are already around Jeju City or Aewol, ARTE Museum usually avoids a detour. Its later closing window can also leave room to adjust the start of the visit.
If the day is already based around Seongsan or Seopjikoji, Aqua Planet fits the east-side route. Allow time for the aquarium and the Ocean Arena session you intend to see.
Factor in family timing
For a family, consider meal and rest times alongside the attraction. A flexible later-entry museum visit may fit a changing schedule; children interested in marine life may prefer Aqua Planet if the chosen showtime is workable.
Keep one venue as the rainy-day anchor
Avoid combining Seongsan and Aewol just because both venues are indoors. Unless the route already crosses the island, a single well-timed attraction leaves more of the rainy day for the rest of the plan.

Compare the ticket with usable time
The reference prices recorded here are KRW 18,000 for ARTE Museum exhibition admission and KRW 45,500 for Aqua Planet adult admission. They cover different experiences and may change; verify current prices and inclusions before purchase.
Compare the total with the time available. A higher ticket may be the better fit if your group wants the aquarium and can stay for its program; a lower price is poor value if the venue is rushed or out of the way.
The route decides the better rainy-day option
For a flexible indoor stop on a west-side itinerary, choose ARTE Museum. Choose Aqua Planet when you are already in the east and want its aquarium or scheduled show. If neither fits the day, keep the route simple instead of forcing a ticket.
