Gunsan Old Port Day Plan: Museum Times, Tickets and Tours

Choose the guided walk first if you want an organised route: both tours leave from the Modern History Museum entrance. If the departure times do not fit, use the museum and one or two nearby buildings as a shorter self-guided visit.

Choose a tour or set your own pace

The museum visitor page lists the Modern Road tour at 10:30 and 14:00, taking about two hours. It visits the museum, Honam Customs Museum, Jangmi Gallery, Modern Art Museum, Modern Architecture Hall and Jinpo Maritime Theme Park. The Time Road tour leaves at 10:00 and 13:30 and takes about two and a half hours; its route includes the customs museum, Chowon Photo Studio, a Japanese-style house, Mallaengi Village and Dongguksa. The city’s tourism division operates these tours, and the page directs participants to meet a guide at the museum entrance. Confirm the current departures and operation on the official visitor page.

Allow for entry and ticket costs

The museum lists adult individual admission at KRW 2,000. Its adult museum combination ticket costs KRW 3,000 and covers the Modern History Museum, Modern Art Museum, Modern Architecture Hall and Weebong Ship. The seasonal schedule is 09:00–18:00 from March through October and 09:00–17:00 from November through February, with last admission 30 minutes before closing. Monday, January 1 and city-designated holidays are listed closures.

Keep the walking portion compact

For a self-guided visit, begin at the museum, then choose the former customs building or Modern Architecture Hall before taking a meal break nearby. A guided tour already covers several of these sites, so check its route before adding the same stops again. Use the city’s Time Travel Village guide for current site information, and leave the waterfront out if it would make the return trip rushed.
