The city describes a roughly 4-kilometre promenade around Gyeongpo Lake. Treat the wetland and beach as separate choices when you plan how much shoreline to cover.
Decide how much of the lake to walk
Use the full lakeside loop when you want the water and path to be the main visit. The published distance is about 4 kilometres; it does not set a walking time, so leave room for pauses and crossings. A shorter wetland visit is a different plan, not a shortcut included in that circuit figure.
Use the wetland for a habitat-focused stop
Gangneung City describes Gyeongpo Lake as a bird habitat and ecological learning area. The paths and observation areas are the visit; birds are seasonal and sightings vary with conditions. If adding Gyeongpodae, check its opening details and the transfer before setting out.
Choose walking or cycling by your stops
Walking leaves room to pause at the water and wetland viewpoints. Cycling covers more of the shoreline, but decide where to rent and return the bicycle before you set off. Gyeongpo Beach is a separate stop from the lagoon, so include it only if the transfer fits the time you have.
Check access and the bus leg
Before fixing the route, check current local access and the official Gangneung bus timetable for the stop and service day you plan to use. The city’s Gyeongpo overview provides the area reference; it does not give a walking-time estimate for your chosen route.
