A Gangneung Evening: Dinner, One Walk and the Return

Keep dinner, a coastal walk and the return to your base on one route. Check the last bus and live rail times before committing to a late evening.

Plan an evening around the return leg first, then keep dinner and one coastal walk within the same area. This avoids relying on a bus or train that may not run when you need it.

Mark the last connection before going out

Check the official Gangneung bus timetable for the exact stop and the correct weekday, Saturday or holiday schedule. For an early departure, confirm the train on the live KORAIL timetable as well. Bus service varies by route, so a time shown for another stop will not establish your return.

Put dinner on the route home

Choose a meal near your accommodation or between it and the coast. Anmok Coffee Street has seaside cafés, but each business sets its own hours; check the specific restaurant or café before making it the anchor of a late plan.

Make the walk an out-and-back

Pick one stretch at Gyeongpo or Anmok and turn back along the same route. Crossing town after dinner adds another connection and makes the return depend on more than one local service. Wind, rain and darkness can also shorten a beach walk, so leave enough time to return to the stop you checked.

Keep a fallback for the final leg

If the bus schedule ends before your planned return, decide on a taxi before heading out and keep the evening close to a place where you can board one. A station-area base is practical before an early train; a beach-side base works when the walk ends near your accommodation.
