Badabuchae-gil: A One-Way 2.86 km Coastal Walk

You do not need to cover the entire coast in a day. Fix the return journey first, choose one main area and let lunch and the afternoon stay close enough that the day still feels relaxed.

Jeongdongsimgok Badabuchae-gil follows the coast between Jeongdongjin Sun Cruise and Simgok Port. The official route is 2.86 km one way, so plan the exit and return before entering.

Route length, hours and entrance

The Korea Tourism Organization trail listing gives seasonal hours: April–October, 09:00–17:30; November–March, 09:00–16:30. Last admission is one hour before closing. Its route description runs from the Jeongdongjin Sun Cruise parking lot to Simgok Port.

Entry can close during hazards such as typhoons, heavy snow or earthquakes, military operations, or repairs. Check the trail operator’s notice on the day. The KTO listing gives Jeongdong ticket office +82-33-641-9444 and Simgok +82-33-641-9445.

Choose the direction around the return

This is not a loop. Starting at Jeongdongjin and finishing at Simgok changes where you need to meet a bus or taxi; walking back adds the same coast again. Keep your train time and the closing hour in view before choosing the entrance.

The boardwalk follows a marine terrace with steps and exposed sections. A short coastal stroll is a different plan from completing the full trail. If wet rock, wind or a closure affects the route, use Jeongdongjin Beach or another accessible stop instead of counting on the full walk.

Use it as a Jeongdongjin day, not a quick add-on

Pair the trail with Jeongdongjin Station, the beach or Sandglass Park only if the transfer and return fit. Check current local transport from both ends; the route’s two entrances are in different places.

Before setting out, confirm the live operating notice, seasonal last-entry time and a return ride from the chosen exit. The trail operator and KTO access details provide the current checks.
