For a first Korea trip with older travelers, choose the city that still feels worthwhile when each day stays in one direction

The question is not how many sights someone can physically visit. It is how many times the day makes the group restart: another transfer, another long return, another hotel move.

A first trip with older relatives is easier to judge by the repeated journeys: airport to hotel, hotel to lunch, return for a break and the way back after dinner. Choose the area around those routes before dividing the week among cities.

Map the route the group will repeat

“Near a station” is not enough to judge a hotel. Check the route from the platform to the exit, any transfers, stairs or elevators, and the final walk with the group’s bags. Keep likely meal stops close to the route back.

Seoul for variety without another hotel move

One Seoul base lets you spread visits across different neighborhoods and shorten a day when energy or weather changes. Choose a district by the stations and stops you will actually use; changing hotels for one part of the city may add more luggage handling than it saves.

Busan when its coast or port is a priority

Busan can fill several days, but its western and eastern districts are separate route choices. Place one direction on each day and keep the hotel convenient for the afternoon rest or dinner you expect to repeat. A steep scenic stop may not suit every member of the group.

Jeju depends on the transport choice

Driving joins more stops into one route but adds pickup, parking and road decisions. Without a car, reduce the number of areas you expect to reach. Decide this before choosing a hotel, then avoid a long transfer on the first evening.

Use a second city only when it adds a place the group specifically wants and still leaves time to enjoy it without rushing each morning.
