Start with the medicine district while the museum is open, then decide whether Seomun Market is a daytime shopping stop or a scheduled night-market visit.
Begin at the museum, not with a market checklist
Daegu Yangnyeongsi dates to 1658, and the Oriental Medicine Museum explains the trade through its exhibits. The current museum information lists free admission, 09:00–18:00 entry with last admission at 17:30, and closure every Monday, January 1, Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok. It opens on public-holiday Mondays and closes the following day when a holiday falls on its normal closure day. The suggested visit flows from the third-floor history room to the second-floor experience room. Check the museum’s visitor information.
Yangnyeongsi’s street remains a working district. Walk the lanes and look at the signs, but do not assume every shop follows the museum schedule or is an exhibit.
Choose one Seomun Market session
The daytime market is listed 09:00–18:00, with individual shop hours varying and a first/third-Sunday closure; check its visitor listing. The separate night market is listed Friday and Saturday 19:00–23:30 and Sunday 19:00–22:30; it is closed Monday through Thursday. Check the operator on the day if the evening stalls are the main reason to go. Seomun Night Market schedule.
For a half-day route, choose either one seated market meal or a short evening food stop, not both by default. Keep room for queues and the return journey. Seomun Market: daytime shops and the weekend night market.
