Daegu Bongmu-dong Foothill Route Decision: Park, Local History or a Palgongsan Edge Day?

Bongmu Park, Bullo Traditional Market and Palgongsan’s trail approaches do not form one continuous attraction. Choose the stop that fits your time and transport.

Bongmu Park is the lower-effort option; Palgongsan’s separate trail approaches need a route and return plan of their own. The park authority lists Bongmu Park at 66 Palgong-ro 50-gil in Dong-gu and gives public-transport directions.

Start with Bongmu Park access

The district office lists buses 101, 401, 101-1, 501, Dong-gu 8, Buk-gu 2, Palgong 1 and 2, and Express 1 to Bongmu Park stop, followed by an approximately 20-minute walk. From Line 1, use Ayanggyo Station and transfer at the bus stop outside Exit 2. Check current routes and service times before departure.

Keep this outing below the summit plan

Use Bongmu Park for a park visit or short walk. If you want a Palgongsan trail, choose its exact starting point separately and confirm the trail status, distance, surface and return transport. The park bus directions do not establish access to every Palgongsan trailhead.

Use the weather to set the limit

Check the forecast and daylight before you choose a foothill walk. Rain can change footing; heat calls for a shorter outdoor segment. Keep Bongmu Park as the fallback only if its access remains suitable for your group.
