Daedunsan’s cable-car upper station gives a shorter approach to Cloud Bridge and Macheondae; the parking-area trail adds a longer climb. Choose by daylight, footing and the last return connection, not by how many routes fit on the map.
Match the route to the available time
Wanju lists 0.8 km and about 40 minutes from the cable-car upper station to Cloud Bridge and Macheondae. From the parking area, its Neusegol route is 2.3 km and about 1 hour 40 minutes; the Yongmungol route is 2.4 km and about 1 hour 50 minutes. These are route estimates, so add time for the approach, queues, photographs and a careful descent.
Autumn colour cannot be fixed to a date
Foliage changes with elevation, weather and the year. Go for the mountain route first and treat colour as a bonus. Wet stone steps, wind or poor visibility can make the upper section unsuitable; set a turn-back time before the climb.
Winter access is different
The county says trails are open through the year but may restrict entry in winter for safety. Check the park notice before travelling. Wanju lists park hours as 07:00–18:30, free parking and no park entrance fee; its page lists the adult cable-car fare as ₩15,000. Confirm the operator’s current schedule and ticket terms on the day.
Arrival and return
Wanju lists direct buses from Jeonju Terminal (five services daily, about 60 minutes) and Daejeon Seobu Terminal (six services, about 40 minutes). Check the live timetable and return departure before starting; do not rely on a map estimate to protect the final connection.
