Busan Yongdusan Park and Busan Tower Route Decision: City View, Old Port Context or a Short Nampo Stop?

Yongdusan Park is free and always open; Diamond Tower has its own ticket window and last admission. Decide whether the paid viewpoint is worth the uphill approach on your day.

Yongdusan Park and Diamond Tower sit above Nampo, but they are separate visits. The park is free; the tower has admission and a fixed closing time.

Check the tower before you climb

Visit Busan lists Diamond Tower hours as 10:00–22:00 daily, with ticketing until 21:30. The same page lists the park as always open and free. Tower admission is separate; check current ticket options before entry. Haze, rain or low cloud can reduce the view, so decide whether to enter after checking visibility and the queue.

Getting to the park

The official address is 37-55 Yongdusan-gil, Jung-gu. From Nampo Station on Metro Line 1, Exit 7 is about a seven-minute walk. Visit Busan also lists buses 134, 26, 30, 7, 71, 9, 103, 11, 113, 126 and 15 to Nampo-dong, followed by about a ten-minute walk. The route is uphill and may include steps, so check the approach for anyone who needs a gentler path.

Choose one nearby extension

For a short visit, walk through the park, see the Admiral Yi Sun-sin statue or Octagonal Pavilion, then return to Nampo. Add one market or Gwangbok-ro only if you have time for its crowds and opening hours. A tower visit sets the pace because its admission window closes; keep shopping flexible around it.

When the view does not work

If the sky is hazy or entry is delayed, the free park remains an option. Skip the tower and continue to one nearby street-level stop, or move the viewpoint to a clearer day. For an evening visit, check last ticketing and the return connection before starting uphill.
