With children, the useful question is where you need to return after a long day: the beach, a meal, shopping or a rest. Seomyeon links the city’s Line 1 and Line 2 routes; Haeundae puts the coast and nearby evenings closer. Choose by the days you have planned.
Choose Seomyeon for mixed-direction days
Seomyeon works when the plan crosses between west Busan, central stops and the east coast, or when a midday room break may be useful. It connects Metro Lines 1 and 2. Check the actual station exits and hotel walking route, especially with a stroller or luggage.
Choose Haeundae when the coast shapes the day
Haeundae is easier when dinner, an evening walk or the next morning will happen by the beach. One beach afternoon does not require moving the whole stay east. If most days are elsewhere, the return trip can outweigh the convenience of a nearby coast.
Count arrival and room layout too
For a late arrival, prioritize a straightforward check-in, dinner and route to the room. Then verify bed layout, child occupancy, luggage space and cancellation terms. A hotel’s “family room” label does not answer whether a child can sleep while adults still use the room.
Keep one base unless a second one serves several days
On a short stay, moving adds checkout, bag handling and another check-in. Split only when the second area serves several planned evenings or mornings, not one short beach visit. If room separation matters more than location, compare one Haeundae room with two Seomyeon rooms after choosing the area.
