80/100Use the booked KTX time to compare two door-to-platform plans. Keep your current hotel if its first usable train or confirmed taxi leaves enough margin; move to Busan Station only when that change meaningfully improves sleep, luggage handling or departure risk.

A station-area room only helps if the morning connection is too tight from your current base. Compare the booked train with the first usable metro or a confirmed ride, then weigh the time saved against the evening lost to checkout and moving bags.

Compare the same morning in both plans
Write down the KTX departure, the station arrival time you want, and how you will travel from each hotel. Check the exact travel date in KORAIL’s train search and compare the station-specific metro schedule with the Busan Transportation Corporation timetable guide. Service varies by station and day type; a train running on the line does not guarantee it leaves your hotel station early enough.
Seomyeon and Haeundae create different morning routes
Seomyeon and Busan Station are both on Line 1, while Haeundae is on Line 2 and normally involves a transfer to reach Busan Station. Heavy cases, a stroller or a slow hotel-to-station walk can make that transfer matter more than the train ride. Check the exact station entrance, lift route and service for your date.
Moving to Busan Station trades an easier morning for packing, checkout and another check-in the night before. Keep the current hotel when the door-to-platform plan leaves enough margin; move only when the added sleep or simpler luggage route is worth the lost evening.
Set a platform target, not a checkout time
Work backward from the station arrival you need: platform and gate, station walk, ride, and hotel departure. Include time to load bags and reach the correct station entrance. Compare the resulting wake-up time in both plans. If the difference is small, another hotel move may cost more usable time than it saves.
When a station-side final night makes sense
Consider moving when the first usable connection misses your planned margin, the confirmed ride is unreliable for your group, or several large bags make a transfer difficult. For a later KTX, staying put may preserve a final dinner or beach evening. Confirm luggage storage, early checkout and cancellation terms before changing rooms.
