Bulguksa is a half-day visit when you count the ride from town, the temple grounds and the return. Keep the rest of the day in the same direction, or return to central Gyeongju for dinner and other city sights.

Set the route before leaving town
The Korea Tourism Organization lists Bulguksa at 385 Bulguk-ro, open year-round from 09:00 to 18:00, with visitors to leave by 19:00. General admission is free. Its visitor information also says pets are not allowed. Read the current Bulguksa visitor details before the trip.
KTO’s April 2024 temple itinerary lists Bus 10 from Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal to Bulguksa. Confirm current departures and return times before choosing a meal or second stop. See the Bus 10 route reference.
Allow for steps and uneven stone
The route moves between terraces, bridges, halls and the pagoda courtyard. Expect slopes, steps and stone paving, and set the walking pace for the slowest person in the group. If someone needs a level route, ask the temple about current access before travelling.
Choose a base for the night after the visit
A central Gyeongju base suits a day that continues through the old town and ends near dinner. A stay nearer the temple or Bomun direction can help when Bulguksa is an early priority, but check the next day’s departure and food options before booking.
Keep Seokguram as a separate decision: it is another mountain-area stop with its own access and transfer. Add it only when the day has room for both visits and the return.
